India has been once again humiliated with those wounded heals afloat a fresh look with the recent inhuman and barbaric rape of a five year old in Delhi! We Indians boast of being the world’s biggest democracy, fastest growing economies of the world! But is that growth credible? Do we deserve those titles and honors! We’ll probably, no! Because such an incident is an unforgettable blot on our moral police. Why is it that the dominant species on Earth cannibalizing its own kind in such a heinous manner? Why is it that women are always under attack by ill minded men?
Because we sometimes need to remind ourselves that such deficient moral people are still around us in our society! We enjoy our constitutional rights of freedom to speech, thought and action as per Article 15, but the freedom for action being misused in a way, unimaginable! This Thought provokes the question that why are such crimes happening and sadly ballooning way beyond our reach?
The most probable answer that comes to our minds would be the lack of political will, bad governance or the least our reluctance and orthodox thought for why we cease to talk about sex.
Well the first reason may have very less to strengthen our society, to create mass awareness about the people’s mindset. The Second one our government, tends to have made a impact by passing amendments bill in the parliament, but that too is ineffective without the strong implementation and harsher steps towards the violaters. The third and the most important reason not highlighted until and unless some mishap happens, needs to be confronted with optimism! The leading novelist Chetan Bhagat’s editorial in The Times Of India caption “Let’s Talk Sex”,where he sole heartedly made people understand the current orthodox and narrow mindedness in the society about this issue!
When our Prime minister said in a conference that “the 16 December’s incident forced us to amend the laws”! Does that mean, our government is waiting for mishaps to happen time and again in near future, to take an initiative to change the laws?
Well it’s high time our country has been facing such humiliating incidents, and its we with the humongous task ahead who need to change, to adapt to tackle the crimes all by ourselves!
